Formula one is back! After not having any races this month we are finally back in race week in the streets of Miami. With this break the FIA had to make some decisions regarding the new regulations. There is a lot to unpack so get comfy as we will be talking about everything from the new changes to the grid being back on the streets of Miami.
Ok now that we have mentally prepped here are the new changes to the regulations
The new changes for the regulations will affect everyone and everything that has to do with the race weekend. Starting with qualifying, first we will see an adjustment to the energy management parameters, which includes a reduction in maximum permitted recharge from 8MJ to 7MJ, aimed at reducing excessive harvesting and encouraging more consistent flat-out driving. This change targets a maximum superclip duration reduced to approximately two to four seconds per lap. With the Miami grand prix having the possibility of being a wet race here is how these new changes affect that, these changes should improve safety and visibility with Tyre blanket temperatures for intermediate tyres have been increased following driver feedback in order to improve initial grip and tyre performance in wet conditions Tyre blanket temperatures for intermediate tyres have been increased following driver feedback in order to improve initial grip and tyre performance in wet conditions.
Now that we talked about the new foundation for the races and cars here is what everyone is waiting for, the Miami GP. First lets start with the new stuff, the FIA decided to extend free practice 1 by 20 minutes making it a 90 minute session from the original 60, some fans have said that this was one of the best decisions they have made in a while. With that being said here is a run down of what happened at the race. Starting off strong the race was cancelled?? Now before you freak out let me explain, the race was rumored to be cancelled with a thunderstorm starting only one hour after lights out. With the dangerous conditions the race was not going to happen but after the people talked they made the choice to push the race three hours earlier starting at 1pm local time. The top three starting the race was Kimi Antonelli in pole, followed by Max Verstappen in second and Charles Leclerc in third. While we saw a four way battle for P1 Kimi ultimately won with Lando Norris in P2 followed by his teammate Oscar Piastri in P3. With that being said this was only a bit of what happened this eventful weekend overall this weekend was great. What were your thoughts on this weekend?

Now it’s time to sadly wait another 3 weeks for another race weekend.
