With the F1 season coming to an end, we are seeing the first battle against three drivers for the driver’s championship in 15 years, with the last being in 2010 with Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Mark Webber. This F1 season has been one of the most eventful seasons in years. So with that, there is a little recap and the thing everyone has been waiting for, the winner of the F1 drivers’ championship.
The three drivers fighting for the championship this year are Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Lando Norris (McLaren), and Oscar Piastri (McLaren).
The results before Abu Dhabi. This season has been McLaren’s season, with them winning the constructors’ championship and both drivers being the two contenders for the drivers’ championship. We also see an amazing comeback of Mad Max Verstappen in the last few races, putting him in second place for the championship, as he was falling behind 102 points in the earlier races of the season to now only 12 points away from Lando Norris, who is currently holding the lead. While this is Amazing news for Max and all his fans, this has sadly put Oscar in third place, even with the amazing races Oscar had in the earlier seasons, he had some car issues, with a DNF in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and a disqualification with his teammate Lando in Las Vegas. Currently, the standings are Lando Norris in first with 408 points, Max Verstappen in second with 396 points, and Oscar Piastri in third with 392 points. Max and Oscar have a serious battle as Oscar is only 4 points away from regaining that second place.

Possible wins
With the scores before the Abu Dhabi Grand prix there is a few possibilities for each contender to win the championship, for example for Max to win Lando would need to get at least p4 or lower, while for Oscar to win Lando would need to get p7 or lower, so with that Lando has to get and stay on the podium to win the championship.
The World Championship
Now that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has come to an end, here is what everyone has been waiting for…The winner of the 2025 F1 drivers championship goes to the British Mclaren driver Land Norris! Lando has gotten p3 in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix meaning that he is now the winner of the F1 championship, with only 2 points in front of Max Verstappen, closing the season with 423 points. Lando Norris has done an amazing job this season with 7 Grand Prix wins, which ultimately led him to victory winning the championship. Making Lando Norris the first Mclaren driver to get the F1 title in 17 years with that last being won by Lewis Hamilton in 2008. With this, it’s safe to say that McLaren has done an outstanding job this year with their car and drivers, even though they had some great moments they also had their share of bad ones but they really did a great job in the moments that mattered coming from both the engineers and the drivers. This has been an amazing chaotic season with a three way battle for the championship, with all the drivers doing an amazing job and this should definitely get us excited for the new 2026 season coming.

Other mentions as the season comes to the end
While the three way battle was amazing here are a few important mentions as the 2025 season comes to an end, as of now Abu Dhabi is Yuki Tunoda’s last F1 race, as he has not gotten a spot on the grid for 2026, he is however staying a reserve driver for red bull. While we are still on the topic of the 2026 grid we have a new driver joining us for the 2026 season, the young British swedish driver Arvid lindblad who will replace Isack Hadjar in Resing bulls as Isack has gotten a promotion and is now going to be driving for Red Bull.
