A Night in the Big House
On November 1st, my family and I traveled to the Big House in Ann Arbor to go see the Michigan Wolverines play the Purdue Boilermakers. This was a night game, so we were prepared to stay later, and very excited to see the Wolverines play a Big Ten Saturday Night game. You should try and see both of a day and night game, but I think night games are so amazing and are a whole different experience.

If you’re ever going to any sporting event, you should always try and tailgate, as that is half the fun. You can eat good food, watch football and meet and talk to some amazing people! Luckily for me, My Godfather runs his own tailgate during the games, and so we went to his tailgate to enjoy some good food and have a good one. But even if you don’t know someone going, you can always find someone who will be nice enough to let you join there and be a part of the celebration. Me and my girlfriend got to enjoy the festivities without knowing everyone there.

Once you finally get into the stadium, there are so many people there and it makes things seem so crowded, but if you enjoy being loud, it is so fun to see so many fans, and college students being so loud and celebrating for their school. Even if you’re not into the loud noise, I recommend getting something to suppress the noise like ear plugs or headphones, because it sure is loud. As a football and sports fan, an event like this is super fun, but for people who might not be, there is still some incentive to go! There is an amazing show from the band at halftime, and it sure is a show by one or the best bands in the country!

One of the best parts of going to a night at the big house is during the start of the 4th quarter. The stadium plays Mr Brightside by the Killers, and the whole crowd sings it together. It’s such an amazing sight to see a whole stadium of so many people singing a very good song and how fun that really is! You might not enjoy the song or even like it, but you can still understand and enjoy the atmosphere around you.

No matter what and how the game went, the best thing is how amazing it is to spend something like that with your loved ones, and how fun that really can be. I’m so thankful that I was able to go with my loved ones and how much they mean to me. I think even if you completely hate everything about these games, at least you can be with the amazing people around you, and experience it all with them. I would definitely recommend this type of atmosphere, and you get to hang out with your family and friends doing so.
Overall:
If you seriously wanna hang with family, watch good football and overall just have a good experience. I completely recommend taking a trip to the Big House to watch the Wolverines go play some football, and hopefully they win the game, but nonetheless it is still really fun. If you’re going, you should go all out, and do as much as possible. As I like to say Go big or go home!
