Introducing the NEW Badminton Club to Lamphere High School, founded by Ellie Rogensues, Sophie Najar, and Troy Hill, sponsored by Emily Lyon.

Why badminton?

The club will officially begin on April 13th, 2026. We are excited to have a new club coming to LHS. The club was first conceived by Ellie and Sophie due to their experience with summer gym. They took this course during the summer of 2024 and found it very enjoyable, especially playing badminton. After the class ended, they were disappointed that they would no longer be able to enjoy this low-maintenance game. After taking a break for a year and a half, they truly missed playing and decided to propose the idea of forming a team for the school. Although badminton is not an official sport in the MHSAA program, we had to establish it as a club. This meant we needed to find a sponsor, and Mrs. Lyon stepped forward to help us make this vision a reality. After several days, we finally received approval for the club and will be starting very soon!

The club has created an Instagram page, which will serve as the primary communication platform for participants, providing updates on any last-minute changes to practice times or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances. The Instagram account is called @Ramsbadminton

The club will be free to join because the gym has all the supplies we need. Please ensure you wear appropriate shoes for the game, such as tennis shoes or closed-toe shoes. Also, wear appropriate clothing for the club, including a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants. If you have long hair, you may want to bring something to keep it out of your face. We hope to see you all there!
