The 34th season of Dancing with the Stars is approaching the halfway point this coming week. It’s also a Wicked Night with your favorite songs from Wicked, Part 1 and Part 2. Here are some updates on Dancing With the Stars!
There are still 11 couples in the competition. Four were sadly eliminated before Dedication Night. For dedication night, the stars were able to dance with someone they loved on the ballroom floor. something Dancing with the Stars has never done before. Almost all of the dances made headlines. Robert Irwin’s speech also made headlines, as he dedicated his dance to his mom. She became a single mom after Steve Irwin died and was left with two very young kids to raise. He talked about how his mom gave him hope, and that single moms and single parents are amazing and deserve so much. Danielle Fishel was another one of the stars who made headlines. Hers were for the wrong reason. As most people thought it was sweet to include someone from her time on the Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World show. Some people thought it was a bit strange that she brought an elderly man on as they danced a jive around him. People thought that it wasn’t the time or place to bring him on. Also, many fans think that they could’ve brought on someone else from the cast.
This week, the ballroom is green and pink for Wicked Night. This is one of the most anticipated weeks of this season for the theme. Many popular songs are featured, like Popular, Dancing Through Life, Defying Gravity, and What’s This Feeling. Fans of the show think that it’s kinda ironic that Whitney Levitt has been popular as her song this week, even though she is the villain of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
This season is the most competitive by far, and people seem to be thoroughly enjoying it. There are a lot of surprise eliminations this season. The first 10s were given out this past week to two of the couples. They told the story of Wicked throughout the night and through dances, and the goal of the celebrities and pro’s was to tell the story of what’s going on in the movie and how the characters are feeling.
The guest judge this week was Jon M. Cho. He was the director in the first film. There were also some guest appearances from Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as they opened the episode, along with some other cast members who were featured. This week’s episode featured some of the props from the movie. They also had some music featured from the new movie, which is Wicked: Wicked for Good is coming out November 21, 2025.
