This practical experience provides invaluable insights into the day-to-day realities of teaching. Mrs. Lyon has established several ambitious and meaningful goals for this program. One of her primary objectives is to secure permanent classroom placements for her students that would extend throughout the entire school year, providing consistent and continuous learning opportunities. Additionally, she envisions expanding the program to include summer opportunities where students could assist with summer school programs, further enriching their educational experience and helping younger students during the summer months. According to Mrs. Lyon, there are countless layers and dimensions to this comprehensive class, each offering unique learning opportunities and challenges.
Despite the complexity, she has expressed how much she genuinely enjoys being able to teach and mentor future teachers. She finds great satisfaction in watching her students grow, develop, and mature both personally and professionally throughout their time in the program.
