A quick recap from the Lamphere High School Marching Bands first competition of the 2025 season held on September 27th at Grand Blanc high school! This was such an exciting way to kick off their season, and Lamphere is not playing around this year with their show press start, the wonderful video game theme show we all know and love! Lamphere competes in Flight IV along with 11 other outstanding bands scattered across Michigan, to qualify for state finals they will have to beat out 2 other bands to hold a spot at ford field on November first, this might be a tough challenger but Lamphere is ready to beat the game and make their way onto that field, we will be cheating them on as they level up throughout the rest of their season.
On the day of the event Lamphere arrived at Grand Blanc and after preparing they began their show at around 5:15 that evening with new and improved music and visuals added to wow the crowd at this show, and that they did! They were up against Clio High School Bands for this show and went on directly before Lamphere, they also put on an amazing performance and surprised the crowd with their show stopping performance, the competition was fierce, especially when there were only two bands competing for the 1st place prize. When the scores were announced there was only a difference of about a half a point from first and second place. Clio earned a score of 68.350 and Lamphere with a score of 68.300, but Lamphere will not admit defeat as they won a caption award (best overall award) for Visual!!
The Lamphere band is ready with their full show to perform at their next competition at Clarkston High School preparing for what’s to come next, as they climb to the top.
