Entering the 2025-2026 school year, Mrs. Rachel Vickers has introduced a new class to the school called Student Leadership. This class consists of 31 of Lamphere’s exceptional students. When we spoke to Mrs. Vickers, she stated, “I wanted to bring this class to Lamphere because I taught this class in Clarkston.” She also informed us that the students are working diligently and are becoming more proficient at communicating and maintaining organization. Mrs. Vickers believes that her leadership lessons contain valuable life skills.
We also had the opportunity to speak with Jordan Aaron, who said, “I use leadership skills outside of this class during marching band. Being in the leadership class helps me feel more confident in my leadership abilities.”
Another leadership student we interviewed was Sophie Musket. She explained to us, “I wanted to be in the class to help plan future school events, such as homecoming and prom. I also joined leadership to become a better leader for my sports teams.”
The students have been working to cultivate stronger leadership qualities throughout Lamphere High School. The school community is grateful for this class’s contributions to our homecoming planning and other initiatives. The Student Leadership program continues to demonstrate its positive impact on both individual students and the broader school community.
