As if you haven’t heard yet the Northern White Rhinos are now functionally extinct. What does that mean? Well functionally extinction is when a population is too low to be able to play a significant role in its ecosystem. Meaning that it wouldn’t be able to reproduce. As of now there are only two Northern White Rhinos left that are both females named Najin and her daughter Fatu. Sadly there wouldn’t be another way to save them having them being able to reproduce due to their age and them having health issues. The last male , Sudan that was on Earth was in 2018 and sadly has died.
