The city of Detroit, Michigan, has a relatively lively and popular broadway scene. With programs like “Broadway in Detroit”, they advertise all shows and performances coming to theatres like The Fisher Theatre, The Fox Theatre, or The Detroit Opera House. Michiganders who come to see these shows at the various theatres all have their opinions about which theatre has the best seating and sizes of the actual theatre, as it really is that serious. Sitting through a 2+ hour musical or play in 1 seat with minimal leg room can be a deal breaker for some audience members.
With the current Broadway season coming to a close rather soon once & Juliet and Suffs close out their time here, it will soon become time for the new season. We of course, can’t talk about the new season without talking about what was here this Broadway season. With the former season consisting of the shows: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Back to the Future, Hell’s Kitchen, Shucked, The Outsiders, & Juliet, and Suffs, with additional add-ons, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, and Hamilton, we are saying goodbye to a truly stacked and talented group of national touring shows.
All good things must come to an end eventually, as better will follow. The next Broadway in Detroit season will start on September 22nd, with the following shows.
