The 5th senior that we got to talk to was Evelyn Dempsey!
What have you done to pass most of your time at Lamphere? (sports, clubs, ect.)
Most of my time at Lamphere is honestly just spent with friends. I did DECA during junior and senior year but now most of my clubs are non school related. Besides those clubs though, I spend my time hanging out with my peers and creating new memories with them.
What was your favorite class you took at LHS and why?
I really enjoyed ceramics classes, both 1 and 2 (which I am in now), I also enjoyed Art 2. I believe this was because of how amazing our art teachers are and the freedom to express yourself through projects.
Which teacher/staff member has influenced you most and how?
I feel like Mr. Vallus had a very big impact on how I viewed the world with the way he taught. He would connect real world situations into his teaching, where you would learn both economic and real world problems and solutions. Not to say other teachers do not teach valuable real world information, but not many do it to the level Mr. Vallus does.
What advice do you have for the underclassmen?
Don’t procrastinate and study hard, keeping up with the work is always the most challenging thing as you progress through high school and even other environments like a job and even at home with chores.
What advice would you go back and give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to be more social, I feel like the most happy I have ever been throughout all of my years in school would be right now. That can 100% be said because of how much more I have branched out. Yes, having some very close friends is important, but having more people to hang out with and talk to is always the best option and who knows maybe you can make more of those super close friends by learning how to talk to new people!
What was the most memorable event that happened to you during the past few years?
In the past few years I’ve made a lot of memories, the most memorable from that bunch coming from this year. Homecoming this year was really fun. I am always a big fan of school dances so I am sure prom will be up there too for memorable events too.
How do you want to be remembered at school?
I, in all honesty, just want to be remembered as someone who worked hard and was committed to what they wanted.
What are your plans for after high school?
After high school I plan to pursue journalism and study to become a sports journalist/broadcaster. I plan to do as much as I can to achieve that goal.
