What are Regionals? Regionals is a competition that combines districts that are close together. Our region is made up of districts 8,9 and 10. These are the teams that competed at Districts to earn the top 4 spots. These teams are all competing for one goal in mind, and that’s to make it to the 2026 State finals. Lamphere cheer hasn’t made it to the states since 2001, when they were last state champs.
On February 28th, Lamphere cheer got 9th place, not making it to states. They fought their hearts out and left everything out on the mat as they tried to advance.

We interviewed a few cheerleaders, asking how they feel about the competition and how they feel now that the season’s over. Here’s what they said:
Senior Ellie Rogensues: “I felt doomed. We should’ve scored higher.”
Senior Madison Hayter: “I felt not in my body. It was a mixture of not getting out but also watching it hit me that I’ll never cheer again and will never compete on that mat with the team I love.”
Senior Sophie Najar: “I felt we should’ve scored higher. They did not reflect how we were scored all season, but I think for my last time competing, I did the best I could. It will be weird not going to practice anymore, but I feel the upcoming people will do great things!”
Senior Juliette Johns: “We did our best and we left it all on the mat. I’m sad that the season is over because I’m never going to cheer with these girls ever again.”
