The Lamphere Theatre Company has a total of 15 seniors from the class of 2026 involved in this year’s spring production of Mean Girls Jr. I found it to be a good idea to take a look at each of our seniors individually and ask them a few questions that help us look back on their career in the LTC. Some of these questions that I am looking to ask these seniors will be recorded and put into a poll to see if any of them agree or disagree on some of their favorite numbers or songs!
The first two seniors I went to for this process were Jordan Aaron and Nathanial Vitro. These two guys have been some key players in our musicals and plays, and bring a lot of life and fun to our stage.
I asked Jordan a few questions about his time with the LTC and some other opinion questions. The questions and his answers are as follows:
How many shows have you been in with the LTC?
“I’ve been in two shows. (The Wizard of Oz) (Mean Girls Jr.)
Which role of yours was your favorite and why?
“Probably the Tin Man because I got to be loud, fun and weird.”
Out of all the dance numbers you have been a part of, which was your favorite?
“‘Jitterbug’, it was really fun.”
Favorite song that you have sung on stage?
“‘If I only had a heart’. That was my solo.”
Looking back on your time with the LTC, what is your biggest takeaway?
“It’s ok to be myself, and be weird and loud and dynamic.”
I also asked a few more students who are a part of the LTC ‘What kind of impact Jordan has on this company and the people in it?’ Sophie interviewed the following students, and these were their answers:
Rosaleigh Wyman
“His energy is contagious, and in theatre, we always need more people, especially guys!”
Lacey Crouch
“Jordan has made more boys step out of their comfort zone because he isn’t ashamed to be a boy in theatre, and he’s very talented.”
Cadence Rodriguez
“He has made a very good impact, because he is super supportive, a very strong leader, and is really good at everything he does.”
Mrs. Peltier
“As drum major, Jordan has brought his musical talents and music theory knowledge to our theater company. He is also a great leader and role model. He always has a positive attitude, is a hard worker, and is willing to try new things. We are so grateful he joined our company as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz last year. Luckily, he will grace our stage one more time as Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls Jr. this April. Wishing we had him in the company sooner for sure!”
Next, I interviewed Nathanial Vitro, a senior, and a truly happy person who is the heart of our company. I asked him the following questions; his questions and answers are below:
How many shows have you been in?
‘Mean Girls Jr.’ would be my 8th show.(Puffs, High School Musical, Radium Girls, Annie, Clue, The Wizard Of Oz, Pride & Prejudice, and Mean Girls Jr.)
Favorite dance number you have been a part of?
“Definitely ‘Jitterbug’ because I just like the sound of the sound and the dance went really well with the music.”
Favorite song that you have sung on stage?
“Probably ‘Bop to the top’, because that song is so upbeat and it’s super energetic.”
What do you appreciate most about your time spent with the LTC?
“I appreciate that it’s a getaway for me, and the LTC is a family for everyone, and we try to be super accommodating for everybody, and I love that I am able to go and do what I love to do with people I love.”
Do you have any advice for underclassmen of the LTC?
“Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the role you want, because there are ALWAYS other options in front of you. If you’re just starting, you may not get the role you want, but don’t be discouraged because if you keep practicing, you’ll get better, and it’ll lead to that dream role!”
I also asked fellow company members about Nathanial, and asked them, “What impact has Nathanial had on the company and the people in it?” Those answers are below:
Juliette Johns
“He brings…Joy! He is very positive, and it brings everybody up, and he keeps everyone happy all the time and makes sure everyone is okay!”
Sophia Minowa
“I think he brings a really different perspective and ideas, and he has a great personality. He brings character and is just an overall good person to have around. If you have any problems, you can go to him and talk, and he’ll always listen; he is a great listener. He is a very good actor; he helps with a lot of roles. He’s good also because he can be super serious, but there are other times where he can be funny and help a situation calm down if it needs it.”
Lacey Crouch
“He makes people laugh. He’s super fun, and he is always happy and brings the spirits up all the time.”
Mrs. Peltier
“Nathanial Vitro joined our company as a freshman. It is crazy to think that he had no acting experience and knew no one in the district at that time. He is now a friend to all and is greatly respected among his peers. He was voted in as Vice President due to his work ethic and positive attitude. He is definitely an amazing role model to the younger students. He has also grown tremendously as an actor over the years and is a joy to watch on stage. He will be missed next year.”
