There are many different types of species of dinosaurs that’s been discovered as of right now and many more we have yet to discover due to their being a low chance of fossilization and the likelihood of finding them in our big planet we live in. Out of all the dinosaurs, we are going to take a closer look at the great three horned reptile Triceratops. The Triceratop is part of the Ceratopsidae family where there are many different dinosaurs that are quadrupedal herbivores that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, where they are known for having “horned face” and the Triceratops is one of many in this family, yet still the most commonly known in media
Media appearances
The Triceratops has been the most common herbivorous dinosaur to be seen in popular media such as the movie Jurassic World/Park and in anime shows like Dinosaur King. They are portrayed as a large mighty dinosaur with three horns on its face and a bird-like peak for its mouth. Although they do have some accurate characteristics they aren’t as 100% accurate to its real life counterparts, because there was no chance a dinosaur will be spitting out fire or being stored in an elemental fighting card shown in Dinosaur King, however, it’s still a fun concept to watch when your first getting introduced to the amazing world of dinosaurs since they do have some interesting dinosaur facts mentioned throughout the shows and interesting story line. The Jurassic franchise also really does a good job in portraying the Triceratops in their movies, although they do not appear in all the shows and movies, it’s always fun to watch this amazing species on the big screens whenever they are shown. They also do an amazing job showing how the Triceratops behavior was and also its appearance. These films are fun to watch if you’re interested in dinosaurs just like I am and also really educational in certain aspects.
What was the behavior of the Triceratops?
The Triceratops was naturally a peaceful herbivore that lived during the Late Cretaceous period in the North America peninsula. They all usually hang in herds or family groups where they all protect each other from any dangerous predators such as the Tyrannosaurus rex, using their 3 foot long horns as a defensive mechanism. When they are threatened or possibly startled they tend to become more aggressive and start attacking the threat in an ambush like a train charging over. They also were really caring for their young and could potentially attack anything that threatens their young. The great Triceratops was also known for being territorial and protective over their space, however, they also had a migratory behavior lifestyle where they are in a constant movement likely moving due to either seasons changing or the lack of nutritious foods in the area. There are also reports that show that Triceratops likely fought each other to show dominance among their group and evidence show they also were able to go toe to toe with the Tyrannosaurus Rex when fully grown and could potentially kill of the large beast, demonstrating the strength of the Triceratops.

Characteristic of the Triceratops and similar to modern animals
The Triceratops was a massive dinosaur that weighed about 6-12 tons and they had massive skulls with three horns on its face; one in each eye. They also had a peak-like mouth that they use to eat plants in herbs around its area, which they also have another horn on top of the peak. The Triceratops is also commonly compared to a Rhino due to them having some of the same characteristics such as having horns in their face and being large animals itself with the Triceratops probably being more but yet still similar.
