Now that we are entering the big 2026, we have compiled the ultimate list of the ins and outs for 2026, meaning things that we should leave behind in 2025, along with things that we still want to bring into 2026. Talking about things from AI brainrot to taking care of yourself, like sleeping more, etc. Giving this year a good chance to let go of those bad habits and staying away from things that push us away from being the best versions of ourselves. We also have our own thoughts on what we should keep and leave behind.
Here are some of Lamphere’s students’ Ins and Outs for 2026.
The Ins of 26
Here are things that we are keeping this year.
We are keeping things such as maintaining a stable job, continuing to do sports, reading more often, being kind, taking care of mental health, decent grades, being healthy, working out, drinking water, prioritizing sleep, Stranger Things, The Rookie, more music, Lady Gaga, the return of good dances, treating yourself sometimes, small friend group, supportive friends, hobbies, thrifting, being more socially active, loyalty, boundaries, strong mindset, being productive.
The Outs of 26
Things we are leaving in 2025 include TV shows that are less than 10 episodes a season, cyberbullying/bullying, negativity, Stranger Things season 5 finale, 67 brainrot / memes, complaining, being burnt out, toxic people, making excuses, bad vibes, doomscrolling, being nonchalance, dry texting, overconsumption, using social media slang, bed rotting, gossiping, all nighters, overhyping microtrends, romanticizing everything, not giving something a chance before judging.
Our Personal Out and In of 2026
Our main thing we want to leave out in 2026 is bed rotting and doom scrolling because it’s something that we see and do as humans a lot, it’s something that most of us seem to struggle with at some point in our lives. There are other things that we could be doing rather than bed rotting, because while we do so, time is passing quicker than we think, causing us to waste our days and not do things that are beneficial towards ourselves. There are some scientific reasons for some people who are addicted to bed rotting or doomscrolling, such as having bad mental health habits or simply from just having a bad day. It’s important to remember that being more active will greatly improve our moods and attitude towards things we don’t necessarily want to do or face. While bed rotting could be relaxing and needed on certain days, it shouldn’t be treated like a full time job. Instead of bed rotting, we could be doing things that would allow us to be able to find things about ourselves that we didn’t even know about. For example, we could find things like a new hobby or even make new friends. These are a few ideas to do instead of just lying in bed all day and on the phone all the time. This year should be about finding opportunities for us as individuals, and to be able to succeed, introverting ourselves takes us away from these opportunities.
While the text above was our Outs of 2026, we feel that bringing in the new year is living a healthy lifestyle, such as being more active and trying to socialize a little more, and being more of an extrovert rather than being in our own thoughts and own world. To live your life to the fullest, it’s sometimes good to let go and be a little crazy sometimes instead of always staying in your comfort zone because you’ll only just waste your life and question why you didn’t do more than you did. Another thing is to express ourselves more and be ourselves to the fullest and truest, and if other people don’t appreciate how you really are, then that person is just not for you, and sometimes it’s good to accept that some people might not work out as you had hoped.
