The Grinch meal at McDonald’s just launched a few weeks ago, and so far, that’s all people have been talking about. The Grinch meal comes with a Big Mac or a ten-piece chicken nugget, a medium or large fry, and a medium or large drink with a pair of socks and the iconic dil pickle seasoning that people have had mixed opinions on. The Grinch meal is iconic for the socks. There are four different colors you can get: yellow, red, blue, and green. The Grinch is a staple film(s) of the holiday season, whether you’re watching the 1966 version or the 2018 version, or the live-action version with Jim Carrey from 2000, or all three.
The history of “adult happy meals”. Started off in 2022 with the Catus flea market featuring characters like Grimace and the Hamburglar was meant to bring back some nostalgia for millennials. The next one was the Kerwin Frost box, which brought back nostalgic McNugget buddies. The next one was the Minecraft meal, which came out with the Minecraft craft movie, and had a matching kids Happy Meal with it. The last meal before this one was the McDonald’s Land meal, known on TikTok for being the only shake with pink whipped cream.
So far, the Grinch meal at McDonald’s has been a smashing success with people, and McDonald’s everywhere in the us has been struggling to keep up with the demand that has come with the Grinch meals. Some of these stores are running out of socks and fries because of the demand, and there has been some backlash on the Grinch meals, and they have some competition because Burger King also just released the SpongeBob movie menu. But this is such a cute concept of an “Adult happy meal,” it resonates with people of all ages, and is such a cute idea for the holiday season, bringing a little magic to the holidays.
People overall have really liked this meal, and the socks are definitely a fan favorite. People love to see what socks they can get. It’s a unique concept that no fast food chain has attempted before for the holidays, and that probably contributes to its success. When the Grinch meal leaves, I hope that McDonald’s brings it back. Or does something similar with another holiday staple like Elf or Home Alone, but for right now, I think that this is a fantastic meal, and I can’t wait to see the future of “Adult happy meals.”
