After an upsetting loss for the seniors & freshmen at last week’s Powder Puff game, the Juniors and Sophomores took home the win for the 2025 football game. The game consisted of the all-boys cheer team on the sidelines, and the girls out on the field playing against each other.
On the sidelines, the boys were coached by a few cheerleaders: Lacey Crouch, Juliette Johns, Maryah Barker, Ellie Rogensues, Sophia Minowa, Acadia Sandoval, Madison Hayter, Kyleigh Cabral, and Cindy Lam. These are just a few of the cheerleaders who were seen helping the guys on the sidelines. They taught the guys how to put up a stunt, multiple cheers, and the proper warm-ups we needed to do before cheering. Other cheerleaders were seen on the football field playing against each other. You could’ve found Hailey Williams playing on the senior team along with Sophie Najar, Shaniya Allen, Destiny Paulussen, and Cianna Nixon going up against their teammates Catherine West and Aubria Holmes on the Junior/Sophomore team. There was a nice variation of grades among the cheer team as well, although there were roughly 15 boys cheering, each grade was represented.
Some key players on the football field were Avery Malkowski(sophomore), Bailee Shankie(Senior), Aliana Martinez(Senior), McKenna Richard(Senior), Jamie Coleman(Junior), Chloe Whitman(Junior), and Peyton Hill(Freshman). They stood out on the field and made great plays, and showed great sportsmanship throughout the game on offense and defense. The score was 7-6 with the Seniors and Freshmen leading up until about the 4th quater up until the Blue team let a run pass and the White team took the lead. The final score was 21-7 with the Sophomore and Junior team winning.
We also had a really good turnout in the stands, we saw parents, teachers, plenty of friends and fellow students. We even saw some students showing some real support and going to the visiting team’s bleachers to support the white team. Thank you to everyone who came out to support!
