Meet The Junior Varsity Cheer Captains

Meet these Junior Varsity cheer captains–Payton Harvey (sophomore) and Mia Hernandez ( junior)

These girls are very strong leaders and talented at their sport. Being captain is an important role to take on for a team and you have to have the right attitude and mindset. These girls are very strong at what they do and are very supportive of the girls on their team! The JV cheer coach, Rebecca Crouch, chose Payton and Mia to lead and be role models for the team. Coach Crouch said, “Payton and Mia know how my brain works from being with me for so long. Paired with that, they have excellent leadership.” Their role of being a leader means they help with making sure things run smoothly, make sure things are communicated to the team, keep people focused, help teach or instruct, and make sure their team is comfortable with cheers and routines on game days. All of their behind the scenes work is shown on the sidelines at Lamphere’s JV football games.

 

We wish these girls luck to a good rest of their sideline season and through comp season. We can’t wait to see what the competitive cheer season brings them!
